Hi Eric, I hope you have a good week end.

My theory is „Everything Matters“. So the LRS01-E1000/POE was tried, and the results are way better than I hoped – I just took it out (after reading your post) and put an LAN-LAN adapter instead. OMG that sounds BAD. You can also read https://theaudiostandard.net/thread/7889/cyld05f-power-supply-ethernet-network. People say the same about the LRS01-E1000/POE!

I don´t care if there is another item in the audio chain, as long as it sounds good/better (for you to try Billie Eilish „Billy Bossa Nova“, on this track you hear the things I mentioned earlier, lack of bass pre 902 and pre RS01-E1000/POE).

The Stack Audio opens up the soundstage, gives more details, more air, more fun, more music. I also have some footers that in theory not make much of a difference. But they do, also under the Stack! And the Stack switch mode PSU for that one sounds better than a linear Allo Shanti PSU or powerbank – on this one!

I have no earth on the LRS01-E1000/POE yet, waiting for a longer cable.

Thanks for the long link with Ferrits theory 😀

Hi Eric, everything makes a difference, I think you should know 😀

The Delock sounds bad in my system, it makes the soundstage nervous.

The LRS01-E1000/POE brings back the missing lows that I was missing from day 1. The earth is not connected yet, waiting for an xtra part to connect. But as I wrote earlier on, the earth cable on the side and the ground (side of the Cat/ cable) are measured by me and connected. So it´s not the same as the Delock.

But why should the LRS01-E1000/POE not play a role even when we don´t know how, just like a cable?

Best Regards    Mit freundlichen Grüssen  KnockKnock  😄

Update regarding the sound of the Drossel V3:

As some might remember I thought the sound of the V3 was a little thin…

Today I had the time to experiment a little. My favorite LAN cable is the Curious Cable. So I put that instead of the V3, and voila I had all the low end back.

So I put in the V3 in the chain, better, but not what I had hoped. Then I remembered the LRS01-E1000/POE I use for all earthing of my switches, and BANG the low end is back, together with the openness of the V3.

I then exchanged the LRS01 with the Delock – bad luck, the sound got messed up, not precise and music floating everywhere. Back in with the LRS01-E1000/POE and all is perfect.

And even better with the Stack Audio Regenerator!

So the absolute best result in my humble home is:

TP Link 902 Router (powered by Allo Shanti LPSU) ->Drossel V3 ->LRS01-E1000/POE ->Curious Cable->Stack Audio Regenerator ->Synergistic Foundation LAN cable ->WiimPro (also fed from Allo Shanti LPSU) ->Lyngdorf TDAI1120 (with Synergistic Foundation power cable and Stack AUVA EQ feet) ->GoldenEar Triton Three+ (on Stack 100´s) . This combination kills it all.

Have a nice week end everyone

And below a picture of the before mentioned LRS01-E1000/POE

Hi Eric, yes exactly: „sauber, plastisch und stabil gerade Stimmen im Raum stehen“.

My son, 9 year old, was sitting in the floor (!) in the corner (!!) and said: „Dad, what have you done? The sound is so much better and cleaner now!“

I might as well try the power cables you mention, the price is good, I just have to find good plugs at a good price too…

Have a nice day and thanks for all your great tips and ideas 😀

              Hallo Eric,

Yes the sound is top notch now. No Lan->Optical->Lan converters. Not even the Stack Regen (I might put that back again soonish😀 )… SO great!

The Eupen power cable, has anyone tried one yet?

Hi Eric. Yes it’s the 902 and the V3 that is insane good.

is there a recipe somewhere for where (and what kind) to put ferrits on Power and DC cables?

Sorry if this has been discussed before, I just could not find the answer:

Is there a way to use ferrite rings on speaker cables, power cables etc etc. Or is it waste of time/money etc…

And what kind of ferrites would one need?

                      Hi folks.

Drossel V3 finished and what a blast! NOW WE are talking. The sound is open, with hundreds of new small (and big 😀) details. wow!

Listen to Sades: „Young Lion“ WITH and WITHOUT the 902/V3 combo. The minute drums details are lost without the V3, and her voice is now BIG and in front of me, and not (like pre V3) somewhere between my speakers and to thin.

                      This is GOOD!

As I have some more LAN cables in my system that could need a brush up, where can I get cheaper big, round ferrits (Aliexpress etc? And what kind??? Anyone?  Link???

Hi Matthias, thanks but I have not tested the Wireworld yet as I am so happy with the QED (real glass inside, and not plastic strings!).

I read your words, and tried a better LAN cable (Synergistic Foundation, Mad Scientist Audio, Curious Cable, Nordost Odin), but the sound is still thin. I could live with it, but when I go back to mu usual setup the wall of sound is much more impressive – and entertaining. Its as if the 902 cuts everything under 100 Hz…

PS Just finished building the Drossel V3, will test it first thing in the morning with fresh ears and -coffee 😀

                        Have a nice evening

All my cables are shielded (Cat 7 and 8). I am not in the position to do the modification of the Delock, I think I buy one more of them I already have 😀

                            Hi Eric,

You are right that there is no connection when I measure (Ohm) between the LAN plug and the Earth connection on the Delock, but on the others (previous picture) there is null Ohm, so there is earth connection (new picture).

Thanks for the WAGO link, but I meant a thing to mount the round ends of the earth cables together 😀

                            Have a nice sunday evening

                              Hi Eric,

I have earth on all 3 switches, done by these small boxes (picture). The LAN signal does not go through them, I only connected one unused output from the switch to the „box“, and from there on to the earth connector on my Allo Shanti and to my earth plug (real earth all the way to the meter). This way I have made earth.

I did not do it on my Stack Regenerator and WiiM Pro as there is no extra unused output. So I will let the LAN signal go though these boxes and connect then to earth that way. The DrosselV3 will be connected just before the WiiM Pro, which is my primary streamer (sounds way better than my Lyngdorf streaming amp, and no it´s not on WiFi but cabled. And from there with a QED Reference Quartz Optical cable, WOW!!! I NEVER thought that an optical cable could make a difference. And its better than coax digital).

As I now have 5 earth cables connected, I´d look for a way to connect them all. Right now I have just twisted them together, but I would like to have a better way to connect these 5 rings (the end of the cable – picture). Any ideas how to do that? Buy some kind of box (what box – link?), or some heavy copper screw and nut and just tie it together?

I have again tested the 902 WLAN, and I understand why people like the sound of this. It´s the openness that so great, and I like that too. I just miss the bass, meaning the way the sound pushes towards, like a wave. It´s a bit too thin in my opinion. But I really understand why you guys like it. And of course I can just adjust the low levels a bit on my amp. I also just shortly tried my Allo Shanto vs the powerbank, and there was no big difference at first listen. Not as big as the difference when I changed the input of the WiiM Pro to the Shanti, holy cow that is goooood….

So any good ideas how to make a good earth wiring system???

                                Hi all you nice people.

Tuesday my ferrite’s will arrive from Mouser in Sweden 😀 I also have two ferrite’s already arrived from ROWAVES SRL (from Romania, VERY quick delivery, quicker than from my neighbor country Sweden). Just to try I have mounted the two Romanian ferrite’s on the Slim Cat6 cable and I really like the sound of it 😀

                                I have two questions:

                                1. Maybe this is answered somewhere already, but the cable for the V3, does it have to be Cat6? Will Cat7 or 8 not work as good or even better/worse?

                                2. As I plan to equip much of my other LAN cabeling with ferrite’s like the Fair-Rite #77 Toroid 5977003801, is there a cheaper way to buy ferrite’s (they are on backorder at Mousers, and quite expensive at ROWAVES SRL)? At Aliexpress maybe? (link please)

Hi Eric and the rest of the gang 😀

I have received the 902 V4 and implemented the most of the tweaks you mentioned on this great forum.

The 902 is fed wireless from my 5G router, and is in turn connected to streamer, to Lyngdorf TDAI1120 streamer/amp, to the input of the optical converter, Stack Audio Regenerator, to the TP link switch…. almost anywhere in my system. It´s either fed by a PowerBank (not recharging) or a Allo Shanti LPSU powered by a Lessloss power cord and a Synergistic fuse inside.

There is sound coming through, but if its to the better my ears say: NO! The female vocalist sounds thin, the guitar also, there is no width and depth, and no low end. And this is only from the track „Dance Me To The End Of Love“ by Madeleine Peyroux. The music is MUCH more engaging, open, deeper and inviting, with many more layers (depth) when I take the 902 out of the quotation.

This exactly happened to 12-15 other tracks that I’ve known for decades, and put to the test.

In a week I might have the Drosselk V3, and will combine that with the 902, but my betts are not on the small 902 as far as as my40+ years experience in HiFI have brought to my listening.

                                  Happy evening everyone 😀
