I hope that the built in translation converts my English well enough in this message. Also apologies if this question covers more than just the topic of the throttle cable (I hope that is ok).
I have upgraded my previous WLAN setup (which was a non-thoughtfully selected range extender) to the WR902AC and am running it off a battery bank. Big improvement for minimal cost (!!!!). Thank you for opening up more in my system with your recommendation. I am hugely grateful for you opening up this upgrade pathway for me.
Next I tried a V1 throttle cable. My starting point was already quite a good cable (Wireworld starlight). With the V1 it was unfortunately a step backwards based on a listening test. So I have some questions around where to go next if you don’t mind:
- Do you think it is worthwhile for me to try the V2 throttle cable and add in a V1 LAN isolator (I have not read much about this topic yet in the forum, there is a lot here to digest and I’m assuming that the LAN isolators are still available). Based on what I’ve read the V3 cable is redundant when running the WR902AC from a battery.
- Or else if I assume that I have maximised the ethernet cable should I instead do the Ian Canada LiFePo4 upgrade? I have seen a couple of mentions of packaged/non-DIY LHY solutions, do you think these will be comparable in terms of performance? Are there any examples of more finished LiFePo4 DIY solutions with housing/case recommendations?
I am really grateful to have found this resource. My brother showed me in his system that going from built in wi-fi in his streamer to a WLAN solution had some big benefits and I had been searching for a reason why for a while. He had done the range extender/WLAN solution just because he was too lazy to run a LAN (laziness is the mother of innovation I guess). I came across you via a post on the alpha audio site and am happy that you have some great explanations for why!
